You must limit alcohol intake during the medication period because it may increase the risk of lactic acidosis. Therefore, alcohol consumption should be avoided as much as possible.

How Does It Work?
This medication contains two classes of medicines - a sodium-glucose co-transporter (SGLT2) and biguanide. Empagliflozin being an inhibitor of SGLT2 reduces renal reabsorption and increases urinary glucose excretion. Metformin decreases liver glucose production intestinal absorption and increases glucose uptake and utilization....

Interactions of Gibtulio Met 12.5/1000mg Strip Of 10 Tablets
Interactions with other medicines
- The use of carbonic anhydrase inhibitors with this medication increases the risk of lactic acidosis
- Coadministration with diuretics results in increased urine formation that might enhance the potential for volume depletion
- Coadministration of insulin secretagogue, other blood glucose lowering medicines with this medication increases the risk of hypoglycaemia
