Medical Description

Fenceta M suspension is pain and fever-reducing medicine. It contains a combination of mefenamic acid and paracetamol as its active ingredients. It is used for the relief of symptoms of mild to moderate pain, such as muscle and joint pain, headache, migraine, and tooth pain. It is also used to relieve pain caused by sports injuries, sprains, and strains.

Before starting with Fenceta M suspension, inform your doctor about all other medicines, herbal preparations and over-the-counter medicines you are taking. Also inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, in the exact dose and duration.

Taking more than the daily dose of this medicine may cause serious liver damage or allergic reactions like swelling of the face, mouth & throat, difficulty breathing, itching or rash. Fenceta M suspension should not be used for managing pain before, during and after coronary bypass surgery.

Uses

  • Fenceta M suspension is used for symptomatic relief of mild-to-moderate pain in headache, migraine, toothache, muscle and joint ache, and backache.
  • It is also used to relieve pain such as traumatic pain, pain due to sprain and strain and pain after surgeries and operations.

Contraindications

  • If you are allergic to mefenamic acid, paracetamol, or any of the ingredients of Fenceta M suspension.
  • If you have asthma or have experienced an asthmatic attack due to painkillers.
  • If you are suffering from inflammation in the digestive tract.
  • If you have or had stomach ulcers.
  • If you are pregnant.

Pregnancy

Fenceta M suspension should not be used in a pregnant woman, especially in the last three months of pregnancy. If you think you are pregnant or might become pregnant, discontinue the treatment and talk to your doctor.

If you have missed taking any dose of Fenceta M suspension, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.

  • Cholesterol-lowering medicines like cholestyramine should be taken with a minimum gap of 2 hours.
  • Fenceta M suspension should not be taken for 8 to 12 days after taking a medicine called mifepristone.
  • Digoxin, used to treat heart failure, should not be taken along with this medicine.
  • Medicines used to lower blood pressure, such as water pills, immunomodulatory medicines like tacrolimus and ciclosporin, and certain antibiotics, should be used cautiously.
