Etilaam Tablet belongs to the class of benzodiazepines that are a part of sedatives and hypnotics. It is used to manage anxiety, panic disorders and depression. It helps regulate the amount of a chem
ical substance present in the brain known as gamma-aminobutyric acid ( GABA). Anxiety is a medical condition characterised by excessive worry or fear. It may be associated with trembling, increased sweating, excessive heart rate, and fast breathing. These features are also seen in an acute setting known as panic disorder. These may also be seen with depression associated with low mood, hopelessness, problems falling asleep, and weight changes. Please note that this is an oro-dispersable tablet that is not meant to be swallowed. Take this tablet, and allow it to dissolve in your mouth. Etilaam Tablet should be taken at a dose and concentration as prescribed by the doctor. It should be taken at a particular time of the day to maintain the concentration of the chemical substances in the brain.

- If you have a hypersensitivity reaction to Etilaam or any of its active ingredients.
- If you have muscle disorders such as Myasthenia Gravis causing muscle weakness.
- If you have breathing difficulties, such as sleep apnea.
- If you have liver or kidney disease.
- If you have acute narrow-angle glaucoma.
- If you have porphyria.
- If you have a chronic psychiatric illness.
- If you have low blood pressure.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Etilaam Md 0.25 MG
- Etilaam should be taken as prescribed by the treating physician.
- This is a dispersible tablet.
- Do not swallow this medication.
- Take this medicine as a whole, and allow it to dissolve in your mouth.
- Do not handle this medication with wet hands, as it may cause the tablet to dissolve in your hands and hence render it unusable.
- It is recommended to finish the full course of this medication as prescribed by your treating doctor.
- Abrupt stoppage of Etilaam MD can cause withdrawal side effects. Consult your doctor before stopping this medication.

Interactions with other medicines
- Antidepressants (Fluoxetine, Paroxetine, Sertraline) can cause a decrease in respiratory rate and a fall in blood pressure levels.
- Antihistamines (Cetirizine, Chlorpheniramine, Clemastine) can increase the side effects of Etilaam tablets, like drowsiness and loss of consciousness.
- Antipsychotics (Aripriprazol, Asenapine, Clozapine, Risperidone) can cause a decrease in respiratory rate and low blood pressure.
- Opioid analgesics (Codeine) can cause extreme sedation.
- Calcium-channel blockers (Verapamil, Diltiazem) can decrease blood pressure extremely low.
- Diuretics (furosemide) can affect the metabolism of Etilaam Tablets and affect blood levels.
- Antacids (Cimetidine, Esomeprazole, Omeprazole) that affect stomach acid levels can decrease the absorption of Etilaam.
- Muscle relaxants (succinylcholine, atracurium) as it increases weakness and fatigue.
- Vasodilators (Hydralazine, Minoxidil and Nitroprusside) as it decreases the blood pressure to dangerously low levels.
- Antifungals (ketoconazole) as it interferes with the metabolism of the medicine.
- Angiotensin II receptor antagonist
- Antiepileptics (phenytoin, Carbamazepine) as it increases the chances of convulsions.
- Β-blockers (Propranolol) as it can decrease blood pressure and respiratory rate.
- Antimicrobials (Azithromycin) as it interferes with the metabolism of the medicine.
