Epitril 1 mg tablet is an antiepileptic medicine that falls under the category of benzodiazepines(tranquilisers), which helps reduce the excessive activities of the nerve cells and calms the brain. The uses of Epitril 1 mg tablet are well established in treating epilepsy, seizures, anxiety and also in controlling panic attacks. Interactions with other medicines

  • Abacavir with Epitril 1 mg tablet may decrease the excretion rate of clonazepam that can result in higher serum levels.
  • Amisulpride should be avoided with Epitril 1mg tablet as it is observed that clonazepam increases the level of amisulpride which results in life-threatening abnormal heart rate.
  • Amitriptyline with Epitril 1 mg tablet may add dizziness, drowsiness and breathing problems.
  • Cimetidine with Epitril 1 mg tablet may prolong the effect of clonazepam.
  • Ciprofloxacin with Epitril 1 mg tablet significantly lowers the metabolism of clonazepam.
  • Clozapine with Epitril 1 mg tablet may increase the chances of side effects like drowsiness, confusion, dizziness, and difficulty in establishing concentration.
