Medical Description

Dolcinac MR gel is a topical combination medicine used to relieve pain, swelling and muscle stiffness in joints, muscles and the back. It contains diclofenac diethylamine, thiocolchicoside, linseed oil, menthol and methyl salicylate. Diclofenac and linseed oil help reduce inflammation, thiocolchicoside helps relax painful muscle spasm, and menthol with methyl salicylate produces cooling and warming sensations that change how pain is felt. Apply Dolcinac MR gel to affected skin only, and keep it away from wounds, eyes, mouth, nose and other sensitive areas.

How does this medicine work?

Diclofenac reduces the release of chemical messengers that cause pain and swelling. Thiocolchicoside acts on the nervous system to help relax tight muscles. Menthol first cools and methyl salicylate then warms the skin, changing how pain signals are felt. Linseed oil contributes topical anti-inflammatory support.

Some medicines can affect the way Dolcinac MR works. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins and supplements you take. In particular, other anti-inflammatory medicines or pain relievers may increase unwanted effects, blood-thinning medicines may increase bleeding risk, muscle relaxants may add to drowsiness, and other products applied to the same area may increase irritation.
