- Alcohol de-addiction
Contraindications
- Alcohol should not be consumed while taking disulfiram as it leads to unpleasant experiences like nausea, palpitations, chest pain, and low blood pressure levels
- All alcohol-containing substances such as sauces, tonic, or mouthwashes should not be used
- Pre-existing liver diseases should be evaluated before prescribing disulfiram 250 mg tablets. Yellowing of the eyes is a severe side effect of Disulfiram and an indication of damage to the liver
- People with a history of coronary heart disease, hypertension, and heart failure should not take Disulfiram 250 mg tablets
- People who are depressed and have suicidal tendencies should not take this medicine
- Disulfiram should be used with caution if you have pre-existing kidney disease

Directions for Use
- Disulfiram 250 tablets should be taken as prescribed by the doctor
- Disulfiram 250 tablets should be taken as a whole and not as a crushed powder or crushed tablet.
- This medicine can be taken with or without any food prior to taking the medicine.
- Do not consume alcohol while you are taking disulfiram 250 mg tablets
- It is not advisable to exceed the recommended dose
- In case of any side effects, you should consult a doctor
- Do not discontinue the medicine without consulting a doctor

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Atazanavir: Decreases the therapeutic effect of Disulfiram
- Bacampicillin: Enhances the side effects of Disulfiram
- Benzodiazepines: Increases the side effects of Disulfiram. The combination can have adverse effects on the brain
- Cocaine: Disulfiram may increase the serum concentration of Cocaine
- Diazepam: Disulfiram may increase the serum concentration of Diazepam
- Dronabinol: Disulfiram may enhance the adverse/toxic effect of Dronabinol. Specifically, Disulfiram may cause intolerance to the alcohol present in the dronabinol oral solution
- Flunitrazepam: Disulfiram may increase the serum concentration of Flunitrazepam
- Fosphenytoin: Disulfiram may increase the serum concentration of Fosphenytoin
- Metronidazole: Disulfiram may enhance the adverse/toxic effect of Metronidazole. The combination can have adverse effects on the brain
- Phenytoin: Disulfiram may increase the serum concentration of Phenytoin
- Theophylline: Disulfiram may increase the serum concentration of Theophylline
- Tinidazole: can increase the adverse/toxic effect of Disulfiram
- Tipranavir: Disulfiram may enhance the adverse/toxic effect of Tipranavir. Avoid combination
- Vitamin K antagonists (eg, warfarin): Disulfiram may increase the serum concentration of Vitamin K antagonists
Interactions with food items
- While taking disulfiram, you should stay away from alcohol and alcohol-containing products such as mouth wash, cough medicine, perfumes, and aftershave creams.
