Can I drive after taking the Dapavel M tablet?

Dapavel M has no effect on one's driving skills. When combined with other blood sugar-lowering medications, it can cause hypoglycaemia. This can result in weakness, dizziness, or vision problems, all of which might affect your driving abilities. Therefore, it is better to avoid driving.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol after taking the Dapavel M tablet?

Alcohol enhances the action of metformin in this tablet, raising the risk of severe lactic acidosis. Avoid alcohol while taking this medication.

Interactions with other medicines

Dapavel M should not be combined with other medications that enhance urine production because it can lead to dehydration and low blood pressure
Medicines that lower blood sugar levels, such as insulin or 'sulphonylurea' medicines, should not be combined with it because severe low blood sugar
It is not indicated to use it with cimetidine because it alters the excretion rate of the active metformin in this medicine and can boost its level in the blood
It is not recommended for use with asthma or arthritis treatments because they can raise blood sugar levels too high
Medicines for high blood pressure should not be taken together since they can raise the risk of lactic acidosis in the body
