- You develop diarrhoea during or after treatment (particularly if it is watery, severe or contains blood or mucus).
- You notice flushing of the upper body, hives, itching or a rash during the infusion.
- You get sudden swelling of the lips, face, throat or tongue, a severe rash, throat tightening, a drop in blood pressure, or difficulty swallowing or breathing.

Directions for Use
- Dalbonova 500 Injection is given to you by a doctor or nurse.
- It is given through a drip directly into a vein, over a short infusion.
- Your doctor decides whether it is given as a single infusion or as two infusions a week apart.
- In children and infants the dose is calculated by the doctor from the child's age and weight.
- If you have long-standing kidney problems, your doctor may decide to reduce the dose.
- Tell your doctor or nurse immediately if you think you have been given too much, or if you are worried about missing a second infusion.
Storage and disposal
- Dalbonova 500 Injection is a hospital-administered medicine, so the pharmacy handles its storage, preparation and disposal.
- Keep it out of the sight and reach of children.
- Do not use it after the expiry date stated on the vial.
- Do not throw away medicines with household waste or down the drain. The hospital disposes of any unused product.
Quick Tips
- Inform your doctor immediately, if you get diarrhoea during or after treatment, and do not take any medicine for it yourself. Diarrhoea after an antibiotic can be due to a bowel infection that anti-diarrhoeal medicines would make worse.
- Inform your team immediatley if you develop any infusion reactions like if you feel flushed, itchy or develop a rash.
- Inform your doctor about any past reaction to vancomycin or teicoplanin before treatment starts.
- Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, as the dose may need to be lowered.
- Take care driving after the infusion until you know how the medicine affects you, as it can cause dizziness.
- Finish the planned course. Stopping an antibiotic early can leave the infection incompletely treated.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines.
- Tell your doctor if you are allergic to other antibiotics, such as vancomycin or teicoplanin.
- If you develop diarrhoea during or after treatment, inform your doctor. Do not take any medicine to treat diarrhoea without first checking with your doctor, as medicines that stop or slow bowel movements should not be used if a bowel infection is suspected.
Interactions with food items
- Dalbonova 500 Injection is given into a vein by a healthcare professional, so interactions with food do not occur.
