Uses
- Cpz 50 Mg Tablet is used in the following cases:
- Treatment of schizophrenia
- Treatment of anxiety, mania and hypomania
- To control nausea and vomiting in terminal illness
- For the relief of Intractable hiccups
Contraindications
- It is contraindicated in the following cases:
- If you have a chlorpromazine hypersensitivity or an allergy to any other ingredients present in Cpz 50 mg tablet
- If you are in comatose states or the presence of large amounts of central nervous system depressants like alcohol, barbiturates and narcotics
Side effects
- Side effects ofClobator tablet include:
- Orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure that happens when you stand up from sitting or lying down)
- Increased weight
- Somnolence
- Sedation
- Dyskinesia (involuntary movements of face, arm and legs)
- Dry mouth
- Constipation

Directions for Use
- Take a Cpz 50 mg tablet exactly as directed by your doctor.
- Take Cpz 50 mg tablet with or without food.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Cpz 50 mg tablet can cause adverse reactions when taken with the following medicines:
- Interaction with anti-diabetic agents like metformin, glipizide, and rosiglitazone can increase blood sugar levels (decreased insulin levels).
- Interaction with anti-Parkinson's medicines like levodopa can lead to reciprocal antagonism of levodopa.
- Interaction with lithium can cause confusional syndrome, hypertonia and hyper reflexivity.
- Interaction with antihypertensives like hydrochlorothiazide and indapamide can increase orthostatic hypotension risk.
- To avoid undesirable side effects associated with medicine interaction, inform your doctor about all medicines and supplements you are currently taking.
Interactions with food items
- Unless your physician suggests, there is no need to avoid any particular type of food or drink when taking a Cpz 50 mg tablet.
