Medical Description

Clozotic ear drops contain Neomycin, Clotrimazole, Beclomethasone and Lidocaine as their active ingredients. It belongs to a different class of medicines called antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory (steroid) and local anaesthetic agents respectively. Clozotic ear drops are used to treat bacterial and fungal ear infections. Use this medicine only if prescribed by your physician. Caution is advised in certain medical conditions like kidney problems, liver problems, pregnancy, nursing mothers, children and elderly persons. It is meant only for external application and should be applied exactly as recommended by your doctor.

Uses

Clozotic ear drops are used to treat bacterial and fungal ear infections. It may include symptoms like redness and swelling of the external and middle part of the ear, fluid mixed with pus discharge, hearing loss etc.

Contraindications

  • If you are allergic to Clozotic ear drops or any component of this medicine.
  • If you are suffering from any psychiatric disorders, fits (epilepsy).
  • If you have any kind of systemic infection (means affecting the entire body) like blood pressure, flu, fever etc.

Side effects

  • Mild irritation inside the ear.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if
  • You feel persistent irritation, discontinue the use of this medicine and talk to your physician.
  • Try not to touch the nozzle of the container in order to avoid contamination.
  • You should use the ear drops within one month once the container is opened.
  • You experience any allergic reactions after using Clozotic ear drops, inform your doctor immediately.
  • You develop any other infections after using these ear drops.
  • You do not notice any improvement in your condition after using this medicine.
  • If you find any foreign particle inside the container replace it with another one.
  • Do not use this medicine for any condition other than prescribed by your doctor.
  • Do not use Clozotic ear drops more than the prescribed duration.
  • In case your eyes come in contact with this medicine, rinse your eyes with clean water immediately. If you still feel any discomfort, rush to your doctor immediately.

Directions for Use

  • Use Clozotic ear drops as directed by your doctor.
  • Follow all the directions carefully and do not miss any doses.
  • Read the instructions on the label before usage.
  • Shake well before use.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly before and after instilling Clozotic ear drops.
  • Use the exact number of drops recommended.
  • Dispense the dose with gentle pressure in order to avoid overdose.
  • Tilt the head towards one side and place drops in the ear canal.
  • Keep head tilted for 2-3 minutes to let the drops soak in the ear.
  • Repeat for the other ear if required after 5-10 minutes.
  • Avoid touching the tip of the container directly to the infected area.

  • Do not freeze.
  • Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

Overdose

  • As Clozotic ear drops are meant for application in the ear, cases of overdose are unlikely. However, upon accidental ingestion, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

  • If you have missed using Clozotic ear drops, then instil the drops as soon as you remember if the next installation is more than 4 hours later.
  • If it is almost time for the next installation, then skip the missed dose and instil the drops at the time of the next dose as planned.
  • Do not overuse this medicine to compensate for the missed dose.
  • If you miss the dose frequently then it may lead to treatment failure.
