Clonasig 0.5 mg tablet belongs to the class of benzodiazepines, a group of sedatives and hypnotics. Benzodiazepines increase the concentration of gamma-amino-butyric acid (GABA) in the nerve terminals. The active ingredient in Clonasig 0.5 mg tablets is clonazepam. This medicine is used to treat anxiety disorders and epilepsy. Directions for use of Clonasig 0.5 mg tablets should be strictly followed. The medicine should be taken at a fixed time every day to maintain the balance between the chemical substances in the brain. The most common side effects of Clonasig 0.5 mg tablets are decreased sexual desire, frequent urination, fatigue, drowsiness, decreased appetite, and tremors. Most of the side effects are mild and do not interfere with day-to-day activities. However, if the side effects increase in severity, the user should consult a doctor.
