Ceftrox Injection is an antibiotic medicine. It is used for the treatment of various bacterial infections such as infection of brain, lungs, ear, stomach, urinary tract, joints, blood, skin and soft

issues. Ceftrox Injection contains ceftriaxone as its active ingredient. Ceftriaxone acts by killing the infection-causing bacteria. Ceftrox Injection is given/adminstered in healthcare set up under supervision of a registered medical practitioner. The dose and duration for thetreatment will be decided by your doctor after careful assessment of your condition. Uses of Ceftrox 1000 MG

Ceftrox Injection is used to treat bacterial infection of the brain, lungs, airways, stomach, urinary tract, bone, joints, blood, skin and soft tissues.

Contraindications of Ceftrox 1000 MG

  • If you are allergic to ceftriaxone or any other ingredients of the Ceftrox Injection.
  • If you are allergic to antibiotics from class cephalosporin, penicillins, monobactams and carbapenems. If you are not sure about which are these medicines ask your doctor.
  • This injection should not be used in prematured babies, newborn suffering from jaundice or receiving calcium intravenously.

Can I take Ceftrox Injection during pregnancy?
The safety of Ceftrox Injection is not fully established in human pregnancy. It can be used in pregnant women only if clearly needed. Consult your doctor immediately if you become pregnant while receving treatment with this medicine.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Ceftrox Injection while breastfeeding?
Ceftrox Injection passes in breast milk in small quantities and has no or negligible effects on the breastfed baby. However, the baby should be closely monitored for the side effects such as diarrhoea, thrush or fungal infection of the mouth.


Can I drive if I have taken Ceftrox Injection?
You may feel dizzy after taking Ceftrox Injection. Thus, be cautious/avoid driving after taking this injection.


Can I consume alcohol if I have taken Ceftrox Injection?
No known interaction with alcohol. If you consume alcohol often, discuss it with your doctor. Long term use of alcohol can weaken your immune system and can make you more prone to get infected.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if
  • You have kidney or liver disease or kidney stones.
  • You are suffering from gallstones (stones in the gallbladder), anaemia (decreased red blood cells).
  • You are on a low sodium diet.
  • You have inflammation or swelling in any part of your bowel.
  • You have stomach disease or you have experienced diarrhoea after taking antibiotics.
  • You have taken any medicine or supplement containing calcium recently.
  • You should let the doctor, or the laboratory person know that you are using Ceftrox Injection while going for a lab test, as it may interfere with the lab tests.
  • Before Ceftrox Injection is administered to your child, let the doctor know if your child has been given a product containing calcium into their vein.
