Description
Candid-B cream is a combination medicine used for treating different types of topical skin infections caused due to fungus. It contains beclomethasone and clotrimazole as its active ingredients. Cand
id-B cream also has anti-inflammatory and antipruritic properties. It is always recommended to consult your doctor before using this medicine. It is recommended to use only for external use. If you accidentally apply it over the eyes, nose, wounds or open cuts immediately wash it thoroughly with water.

Can I apply the Candid-B cream during pregnancy?

This medicine is to be applied on topical surfaces and the quantities which might get absorbed from the skin are too little and chances of any effect in pregnancy are rare. Still, this medicine should be used only under medical supervision, as components of this medicine are known to be unsafe during pregnancy. In case you are prescribed this medicine, avoid using it on larger skin areas for a prolonged duration.
Breast Feeding

There is limited information available on the use of this medicine in a breastfeeding woman. However, caution should be exercised while using this medicine and avoid using it on the breast or areas near the breast or any large area of the body for a prolonged duration.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with the Candid-B cream?

Though the Candid-B cream is applied topically, it is recommended not to consume alcohol while using this cream. Drinking alcohol may decrease the healing process. Consult your doctor before using this medicine if you have a habit of consuming alcohol.

Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Clotrimazole helps in damaging the fungi's protective layer and inhibit the growth of fungi. As a result fungi dies.
- Beclomethasone helps in activating the substances that reduce itching, dryness, scaling etc of the skin.
Directions for Use
- Wash the affected area and also your hands and dry.
- Take the required amount of cream.
- Apply a thin layer of cream over the affected area and with a very gentle massage if needed.
- If the affected area is your hands then do not wash your hands after the application.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way the Candid-B cream works or the Candid-B cream itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines used at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines especially topical medicines like creams, gels, etc you are currently using or might use to avoid any possible interaction.
- Since the Candid-B cream is applied over the skin on the affected area, it is less likely to have an interaction with any other forms of medicines like oral forms.
Dosage
Overdose
Overdose of the Candid-B cream is less likely to show up any unusual effects. However, if you notice any unusual signs and symptoms then seek immediate help from your doctor.
Missed a Dose
You should never miss applying the medicine to the affected area. If you have missed applying any dose of the Candid-B cream, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not use a double dose of the Candid-B cream to compensate for the missed one....
