Medical Description

Betnesol Forte tablet is used in relieving inflammation (redness, swelling, itching) which is associated with different types of diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, bronchial asthma, skin and other allergic conditions. Betnesol tablet is a steroid medicine containing betamethasone as its active ingredient. Take this medicine exactly as told by your doctor. Do not miss any dose or stop taking it without consulting your doctor. You must complete the entire course with this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding and about all the medicines and supplements you take and all the conditions or diseases you suffer from before starting this medicine. Do not stop taking this medicine abruptly, as it may result in worsening the condition further.

Betnesol Forte tablet is used to treat inflammation (swelling, redness) due to various conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, certain skin conditions like psoriasis dermatitis, other allergic conditions, etc.

Contraindications

  • If you are allergic to betamethasone or any of the ingredients of Betnesol Forte tablet.
  • If you have any untreated or undertreated infection.

Directions for Use

Missed a Dose

A missed dose should be made up soon, but not when the next dose is near because that may result in a double dose. A gap of at least 6 to 8 hours is advised between the two doses.

How Does It Work?

Betnesol Forte tablet contains betamethasone as its active ingredient. Betamethasone belongs to the corticosteroid group, by blocking the production of certain chemical substances in the body called prostaglandins and reduce the inflammation, swelling and redness of the skin.

  • Some medicines can affect the way the Betnesol tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
  • Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
  • Especially if you are taking medicines to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, high/abnormal cholesterol levels, blood thinners, anti-infectives, anti-diabetics, anti-asthmatics, pain killers, immunomodulatory medicines or medicines for the brain-related disorder.
  • Other medicines like carbenoxolone, oral contraceptive pills, mifepristone, vecuronium, tretinoin, quetiapine should be used cautiously along with the Betnesol tablet.
  • Also, inform your doctor if you have a planned surgery or any vaccination scheduled.
