Can I take Betacard 50mg Tab during pregnancy?
This medicine can be harmful to the foetus. Doctors will only prescribe it during pregnancy if its benefits outweigh the risks. Many complications ranging from growth retardation and malformations to foetal death have been reported.
Can I take this medicine while breastfeeding?
This medicine can be excreted into breast milk. Hence, it is not safe to take during breastfeeding.
Can I drive if I have consumed this medicine?
This medicine does not affect one's ability to drive. However, if you feel dizzy or tired during treatment with this medicine, then you should not drive.
Can I consume alcohol with this medicine?
Alcohol can cause your blood pressure to drop. You should avoid or limit your alcohol consumption while taking this medicine.

How Does It Work?
Betacard 50mg Tab works by decreasing the heart rate, blood pressure and strain on the heart.
Directions for Use of Betacard 50mg Tab
Betacard 50mg Tab dosage and duration should be as prescribed by your doctor. This medicine should be swallowed as a whole. It should not be chewed, crushed or broken. This medicine can be taken with or without food at a fixed time.

Interactions with other medicines
This medicine interacts with several medicines. Inform your doctor of any medication you may be taking. The most common interactions include digoxin and calcium channel blockers (verapamil, diltiazem and nifedipine) which can decrease the heart rate further if taken with this medicine; and antihypertensives like prazosin and clonidine which can lead to very low blood pressure when combined with this medicine.

Store in a cool and dry place, away from excess heat and moisture, and away from children.
Dosage of Betacard 50mg Tab
An overdose of this medicine can be fatal. Immediate symptoms of an overdose are lethargy, breathing disorders, wheezing (whistle-like sound from the chest), missing heartbeat, excess slowing of heartbeat, swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs, shakiness, dizziness, sweating or confusion, blurred vision, headache, pale color, numbness or tingling of the mouth, etc. If such symptoms are observed, immediately seek emergency medical attention.
Missed a Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, do not take an extra dose to compensate for the missed dose. Continue with your regular dosing schedule.

A: No interaction exists between this medicine and omeprazole, but you should always consult your doctor before taking any additional medication.
Q: Can I stop taking this medicine if I feel better?
A: Do not stop taking a beta-blocker without talking to your doctor. If you stop a beta-blocker suddenly, you can suffer from chest pain, irregular heartbeat, or even a heart attack. Your doctor will help you decrease your dose gradually.

A: You may need to adjust your dose if you experience any symptoms of dizziness, syncope, vision problems, sexual dysfunction, slowing of heart rate, etc.; immediately report to your doctor for an alteration of your dosage.
