Medical Description
Azicron tablet is an antibiotic used for certain bacterial infections in children, including infections of the lungs, throat, sinuses, ears, skin and soft tissues. It contains azithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic that stops susceptible bacteria from making proteins needed for growth. By limiting bacterial growth, it helps the child's immune system clear the infection. The tablet is given by mouth after being dispersed in water as directed, and it does not treat viral illnesses such as colds or flu.
