Asar Ct tablets during pregnancy are not recommended as they may cause reproductive toxicity. Likewise, the use of diuretics to manage hypertension in pregnancy is best avoided as it may be associated with hypovolaemia and other reproductive complications.

Breast Feeding

Is it safe to use Asar Ct tablets while breastfeeding?

As chlorthalidone passes into the breast milk, breastfeeding mothers should refrain use to Asar Ct tablets.

Driving

Can I drive after taking Asar Ct tablets?

Asar Ct tablets do not influence your driving ability; however, it should be considered that they may cause dizziness.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Asar Ct tablets?

Asar Ct tablets may cause excessive dizziness and worsen the pre-existing side effects; therefore should be avoided.

Interactions with other medicines

Concomitant use of lithium and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors may cause an increase in serum lithium concentrations and toxicity
Concomitant use of potassium-sparing diuretics may increase potassium levels in the blood
Concomitant use of NSAIDs and angiotensin II receptor antagonists may lead to an increased risk of the renal functioning
Co-administration of corticosteroids with diuretics leads to increased activity of corticosteroids
Co-administration of certain NSAIDs may reduce the diuretic and antihypertensive efficacy of chlorthalidone
Anticholinergic agents increase the bioavailability of thiazide-type diuretics
Concomitant treatment with cyclosporin increases the risk of hyperuricaemia and gout-type situation
