Uses
- As per USFDA, the Aripat Md Tablet is used for the following conditions.
- Treatment of Schizophrenia (lowers both positive and negative symptoms like hallucination, delusions, lack of pleasure, memory problems, cognitive problems, etc.)
- Management of sudden manic and mixed episodes in bipolar disorder.
- Major depressive disorder along with other treatments.
- Irritability in autism disorder
- Treatment of Tourette’s syndrome (repetitive actions or sounds/tics)
Contraindications
- If you have an allergic reaction to Aripat Md Tablet.
- If you are an older adult who already has dementia-related psychosis, Aripat Md medicine can cause a severe reaction and even death.
- If you are using other antipsychotic medication.
- If you have suicidal thoughts and behaviour changes, especially in adolescents.
- If you are pregnant, planning for a pregnancy or nursing.
- If you have any impulse control tendencies, such as addictive behaviour, inform your doctor.
- If you are diagnosed with tardive dyskinesia (involuntary movements) or neuroleptic malignant syndrome (various neurological symptoms)

- You have any liver condition, you may need a dose adjustment.

- You have any type of heart illness or stroke.
- You have a respiratory condition.
- You have a low white blood cell count.
- You are over 65 years. This medicine can cause increased side effects due to slow metabolism.
Directions for Use
- Try to take the Aripat Md Tablet precisely as directed by the doctor.
- Do not increase the dosage of Aripat Md Tablet, even if you cannot notice any changes.
- Do not break the tablet or chew the tablet.
- Swallow the medicine as a whole.
- You can take the Aripat tablet with or without a meal.
- Do not take Aripat Md Tablets with other medicines without informing your doctor.
- Do not discontinue Aripat Md medication abruptly, as it can have adverse effects.

Interactions with other medicines
- Aripat Md Tablets can interact with blood pressure or heart medicines such as captopril, enalapril, and atenolol. They can alter the effectiveness of the medicines.
- Notify your doctor if you are using other psychiatric conditions like depression, anxiety, etc. Such medicines can interact with Aripat Md tablets and cause severe reactions.
- Aripat Md medicine can react with certain heart medications for abnormal heart rhythm like amiodarone, quinidine, etc.
- Aripat Md Tablet also lowers the effects of some fungal, bacterial, and HIV medicines.
- This medicine can interact with certain seizure medications and may lower its effectiveness and precipitate seizures.
- Aripat Md Tablet can cause increased drowsiness when used with allergy medicines, opioid pain relievers, muscle relaxants, and other sleep-inducing medicines.
- Do not take St. John’s wort, a herb that treats depression, with Aripat Md medicine. Together, they can lead to serotonin toxicity and other life-threatening side effects.
Interactions with food items
- Avoid having grapefruit and its juice; grapefruit reduces the effect of Aripat Md medicine.
- You can take Aripat Md medicine with or without consuming food.
