Uses
- Arip Mt 5 mg tablets are used in the treatment of:
- Schizophrenia
- Bipolar Disorder
- Tourette Syndrome
- Irritability in Autism Spectrum Disorder
Contraindications
- Do not take Arip Mt tablets or take with caution:
- If you are allergic to any of the components of Arip Mt tablets.
- If you have heart disease, use caution as Arip Mt tablets can cause low blood pressure.
- If you are an older adult with dementia (a condition in which there is memory loss). This medicine increases the risk of stroke.
- If you have a history of convulsions. This medicine increases the risk of convulsions.
- If you are under 18, there is limited data on the effects of this medicine on children and adolescents.
Side effects
- Side effects of Arip Mt tablets include:
- Headache
- Restlessness
- Dizziness
- Stomach pain
- Appetite change
- Increased salivation
- Joint pain
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Drowsiness
- Blurred vision

- You have suicidal thoughts or thoughts of self-harm.

- You have increased blood sugar levels. Monitor your blood sugar, cholesterol, and lipid levels regularly while taking Arip Mt tablets.
- Your white blood cell count has reduced significantly. You should do complete blood count (CBC) tests regularly while on treatment with Arip Mt tablets.
- You experience persistent, debilitating, or worsening side effects with time.
- You conceive during the course of Arip Mt tablets or are planning a pregnancy.
Directions for Use
- Take Arip Mt tablets exactly as advised by your doctor.
- Do not exceed the dosage, even if you cannot notice the effects of this medicine.
- You may be prescribed a low dose of Arip Mt tablets at first. The dose may be changed depending on your response to the medicine. It will also depend on the side effects you get.
- Complete the course of treatment of Arip Mt tablets.
- Do not abruptly stop taking Arip Mt tablets without consulting your physician.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Antiepileptics (carbamazepine) decrease the serum concentration of the medicine.
- Antifungals (ketoconazole) increase the concentration of Arip Mt tablets in the blood and can cause adverse effects.
- Antidepressants (fluoxetine and paroxetine) can increase the levels of the medicine Arip Mt in the blood.
- Quinidine can increase the concentration of Arip Mt tablets in the blood.
Interactions with food items
- Avoid drinking grapefruit juice while you are taking Arip Mt tablets.
- Stay hydrated while you are taking this medication. This protects the kidney from damage.
