Alora 1 MG Description

Alora Tablet contains Alprazolam, which comes under the benzodiazepines group of medicines. It is used for Anxiety Disorder, Panic Attacks, Agoraphobia (fear of open spaces) and Premenstrual syndrome

(PMS). Alprazolam is a faster-acting medicine than other benzodiazepines and is about 10 times stronger, meaning that it can rapidly cause sedation. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger in the brain called GABA. GABA suppresses the abnormal and increased activity of brain cells. This produces calming effects and helps reduce anxiety and panic. It is also helpful in PMS (premenstrual syndrome). Long-term use can lead to physical dependence and side effects like changes in appetite, constipation, difficulty concentrating, difficulty passing urine, drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, increased salivation, irritability, joint pain, light-headedness, nausea, changes in sex drive/ability, and tiredness. Alora Tablet should be taken as per the directions of the doctor. One can swallow the whole tablet. However, it is better to take medicine at night to prevent the side effects like sleepiness.
