Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Alora Tablet consists of alprazolam as the main chemical ingredient. It belongs to the class of chemicals called benzodiazepines. It calms the nerve cells by producing a relaxing effect in the central nervous system, bringing the increased heartbeats to an average rate and rhythm.
- Alprazolam has an exceptional and distinctive feature that makes it very unique. It works on the symptoms of anxiety quickly.
- It works in the region of the brain called the hypothalamus. In the hypothalamus, two receptors, called-Benzodiazepine receptors and Gamma-aminobutyric acid receptors (GABA), are present in this area. These receptors exchange chemicals with each other and cause a slow down in ARAS activity.
- ARAS stands for ascending reticular activating system. It is a combination of nuclei or cells situated in the brain that controls the sleep and wake cycle and transitions in the body. When alprazolam binds to the GABA- subtype A receptors, the exaggerated response messages of anxiety symptoms- increased heart rate, fast breathing, and sweating to the body from the brain are decreased. All of this then makes a person feel calm and soothing feelings; hence the person becomes relaxed and better.
