Uses
- Alkepin Odt tablets are commonly used to treat schizophrenia.
Contraindications
- If you’ve Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD).
- If you have obesity (excessive weight because of high concentration of fat deposits).
- If you’ve uncontrolled hypertension (high blood pressure).
- If you have diabetes (increased blood sugar levels).
- If you have arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat).
- If you have any other uncontrolled heart disease.
- If you have liver disease.
- If you have been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism (increased thyroid levels).

Directions for Use

Interactions with other medicines
- To avoid any adverse effects caused by medicine interaction, inform your doctor about all medicines and supplements (including herbal medicines and supplements and multivitamins) you are currently taking. Taking Alkepin Odt Tablet along with the following medicines can cause adverse reactions:
- Medicines that contain sympathomimetic agents like- phenylephrine, isoproterenol (used in heart emergencies); interactions with the Alkepin Odt Tablet can cause an abrupt heart rate which can lead to restlessness or breathing difficulties. In some cases, heart failures or sudden deaths have also been reported.
- Anti-tubercular medicine like rifampicin; interaction with these medications can cause an elevation in uneasiness and sedation.
- Antifungal medicines like fluconazole; side effects of Alkepin Odt Tablets can increase when taken simultaneously with antifungal medicines.
- These medicine interactions can cause serious complications that further affect the immune system. They can result in a deterioration of health and, in some cases, even death.
Interactions with food items
- Since Alkepin Odt Tablet causes an increase in weight, it is advised to eat a healthy diet; rich in vitamins and minerals, which include green leafy vegetables and low sugar content diets.
