Ziprax 100 MG/5ML Description
Ziprax Dry Syrup contains Cefixime as its active ingredient which is an antibiotic. It belongs to the "Cephalosporin" class of medicine. This medicine is being used for the treatment of bacterial inf
ection of the throat/neck, lungs, ear, urinary tract and skin. It works by inhibiting the formation of the cell wall and kill the various susceptible bacterial organisms. This medicine is designed to be used only by children. It should not be used for children above 18 years of age. You need to dissolve the powder in sterile water given along by following the directions and shake it well. Give this dry syrup as prescribed and for the prescribed duration to your child. The common side effects of Ziprax Dry Syrup is diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting and gas. If you feel the side effects persist or the condition of your child worsens, you should contact your doctor immediately.

- If your child is allergic to Cefixime or any other ingredient of Ziprax Dry Syrup
- If your child is allergic to any other Cephalosporin antibiotics including Penicillin

- Take Ziprax Dry Syrup as directed by your doctor.
- For reconstitution: Add boiled and cooled water, slightly below the mark on the bottle and shake well before use.
- The reconstituted solution should be used within the duration mentioned on the bottle and any unused solution should be discarded properly.

- Medicine used to treat fits such as Carbamazepine should be used cautiously with Ziprax Dry Syrup.
- The effect of blood thinner medicine such as warfarin increases when used with this medicine.

Storage and disposal of Ziprax 100 MG/5ML
- Store at temperature not exceeding 25°C. Protect from light and moisture.
- Store the reconstituted suspension in the refrigerator.

Overdose
- Symptoms of overdose of Ziprax Dry Syrup include nausea, vomiting, gas, stomach pain and diarrhea; and may damage your child's brain (Encephalopathy).
