Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
Duloxetine+Pregabalin works by the combined action of duloxetine and pregabalin. Duloxetine increases the levels of certain feel-good chemical messengers (serotonin and norepinephrine) in the brain. Pregabalin reduces the release of certain pain-signalling chemical messengers from overactive nerve cells by acting on calcium channels.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Sometimes Duloxetine+Pregabalin may affect the way other medicines work and other medicines may affect how Duloxetine+Pregabalin works if taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
- Especially, if you are taking medicines for brain-related disorders or calmness of the brain, as it can cause sleepiness or dizziness.
- Medicines like oxycodone used for serious painful conditions if taken along can lead to a loss of memory and the ability to perform normal physical movements.
- If you are on blood thinners like aspirin, warfarin, etc., taking them with Duloxetine+Pregabalin can increase the risk of abnormal bleeding.
- Do not mix antibiotics like ciprofloxacin with these medicines; it increases the levels of Duloxetine in blood and can cause serious effects.
- Inform your doctor if you use other medicines like sertraline, lithium and dextromethorphan. They can cause severe side effects.
Interactions with food items
- Some brain-stimulating things like coffee, energy drinks, etc., interfere with the effects of this medicine.
- Avoid grapefruit and its juice, as it can interfere with this medicine.
