Beclometasone+Neomycin+Clotrimazole is a combination medicine. It is used in the treatment of various skin problems such as itching, redness, allergies and inflammation suspected to have a bacterial or fungal infection. It is also used to treat ringworm infection, athlete's foot and tinea infections. It helps in reducing symptoms like rashes, itchiness, redness and other symptoms associated with skin infections. Beclometasone is a steroid, clotrimazole is an antifungal agent and neomycin is an antibacterial agent. Beclometasone+Neomycin+Clotrimazole is available in the form of cream, lotion, ointment, ear drops. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about all the medicines and supplements you take and all the conditions or diseases you suffer from before starting this medicine.

Uses

Beclometasone+Neomycin+Clotrimazole is used to treat various skin infections and inflammation like dermatitis, pruritus, etc., that occur due to superficial bacterial or fungal infection.

Contraindications

When should one not use Clotrimazole+Beclometasone+Neomycin

If you are allergic to neomycin, clotrimazole, beclomethasone or similar medicines.
It should not be used for nail and scalp infections and in children less than 12 years old.

Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

Beclometasone works by blocking the synthesis of a natural substance (Prostaglandins), which is responsible for itching, redness and swelling.
Neomycin works by inhibiting the growth and multiplication of bacteria causing infection.
Clotrimazole works by inhibiting the formation of a fungal cell wall component which leads to altered permeability and growth of fungus causing infection.
Collectively all these medicines work more effectively by reducing the infection and inflammation of the skin.

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way beclometasone+neomycin+clotrimazole works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, herbals you are currently taking or might take or are using other topically applied creams, lotion and gel to avoid any possible interaction.
Especially if you are taking medicines to treat HIV infection or are taking medicines like cidofovir, cisplatin, amphotericin B, tobramycin, rifampin, rifabutin, pain killers, antibiotics.
Alternative contraceptive measures should be considered during the treatment and after 5-days of the treatment with beclometasone+neomycin+clotrimazole.
