Atorvastatin+Aspirin is a combination medicine. It is used for the treatment of increased cholesterol, especially when associated with the risk of heart diseases like a heart attack or stroke. Atorvastatin+Aspirin is available in the form of tablets and capsules. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about all the medicines and supplements you take and all the conditions or diseases you suffer from, before starting atorvastatin+aspirin.

Contraindications
When should one not use Atorvastatin+Aspirin(Acetylsalicylic Acid)
- If you are allergic to atorvastatin, aspirin or similar medicines.
- If you have liver or kidney problems
- If you have a history of ulcers in the stomach or small intestine.
- If you have bleeding disorders
- If you have gout
- If you are pregnant (last three months) or breastfeeding.
- If you are taking medicines for cancer, rheumatoid arthritis or hepatitis C.

- You notice black tarry stools or blood in vomit.
- You are taking medicine for bacterial infections like fusidic acid.
- You are undergoing surgery or had an operation recently.
- You are addicted to alcohol
Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Cholesterol is made by an enzyme, atorvastatin inhibits this enzyme. Therefore, lowering cholesterol and bad cholesterol (LDL levels). It also increases the good cholesterol known as high-density lipoprotein (HDL levels).
- Aspirin in low doses stops the platelets from forming a clot so that the blood can flow without any obstruction in the arteries.

- Some medicines can affect the way atorvastatin+aspirin works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Especially if you are taking medicines to treat your heart problems, high blood pressure, hepatitis or are taking blood thinners, painkillers or medicines like niacin, cyclosporine, clarithromycin, itraconazole, tacrolimus and ezetimibe.
