Emanzen D Tablet
Description
Emanzen D Tablet is a combination medication primarily used for the management of pain and inflammation in various musculoskeletal and inflammatory conditions, such as arthritis, postoperative pain, toothaches, headaches, and muscle injuries. It contains two active ingredients: diclofenac sodium, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and serratiopeptidase, a proteolytic enzyme. Diclofenac acts by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are chemical mediators responsible for pain, swelling, and inflammation, thereby reducing discomfort and improving mobility. Serratiopeptidase complements this action by breaking down protein-based inflammatory mediators at the site of tissue injury, supporting faster resolution of swelling and tissue repair.
This medication is intended for short-term use and should be taken exactly as prescribed by a physician, preferably with or after food to reduce gastrointestinal irritation. While useful in pain control, Emanzen D should be used with caution in individuals with pre-existing gastrointestinal ulcers, kidney or liver disorders, and cardiovascular conditions, as the risk of adverse effects increases in such populations. It may cause side effects like dizziness, nausea, vomiting, rashes, indigestion, and gastric discomfort. Long-term use or self-medication can lead to serious complications such as peptic ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, or kidney impairment.
Emanzen D is not recommended in pregnant women (especially in the third trimester), breastfeeding mothers, and individuals with a history of hypersensitivity to NSAIDs. It is also not recommended for use during fertility treatments or while trying to conceive, as it may interfere with ovulation. Caution should be exercised in elderly patients, individuals with autoimmune conditions like lupus, or those taking diuretics, blood thinners, antidiabetics, or medications for epilepsy and high blood pressure, due to potential interactions. You should avoid alcohol during treatment, as it can cause liver damage and gastrointestinal side effects.
Emanzen D should be stored below 30°C, away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight, and kept out of the reach of children and pets. Overdose symptoms may include drowsiness, vomiting, abdominal pain, and dizziness, requiring immediate medical attention. The tablet should not be crushed or chewed, and if a dose is missed, it should not be doubled. Patients must also be vigilant about allergic reactions, such as skin rashes or swelling, and discontinue the medicine immediately if such symptoms occur. Proper usage under medical supervision ensures effective pain relief while minimising the risk of complications.
Cipzen D tablet, Tolpa D tablet, Lyser D tablet, Zinase D tablet, and Alsera D tablet also contain a combination of diclofenac and serratiopeptidase.
