Uses of Zolpid Er 12.5 MG
- Zolpid Er Tablet is used in the treatment of short-term sleep problems in adults like:
- • Difficulty falling asleep
- • Waking in the middle of the night
- • Waking too early
Contraindications of Zolpid Er 12.5 MG
- If you are allergic to zolpidem or any of the other ingredients of Zolpid Er Tablet.
- If you have a condition called sleep apnoea, where you stop breathing for short periods at night.
- If you have a condition called myasthenia gravis that causes severe muscle weakness.
- If you have breathing difficulties.
- If you have liver problems.
- If you have a mental illness (psychosis).
- If you are under the age of 18.

Directions for Use of Zolpid Er 12.5 MG
- Take Zolpid Er Tablet as a whole with sufficient water.
- Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
- Do not consume more than the prescribed dose.
- Do not discontinue the medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.
Interactions of Zolpid Er 12.5 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Zolpid Er Tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Zolpid Er Tablet may increase the effect of medicines used for treating mental problems (antipsychotics), medicines used for treating depression (sertraline, bupropion, desipramine), medicines used to treat moderate to severe pain (narcotic analgesics), medicines used for treating fits/seizures (anticonvulsants), medicines used in surgery (anaesthetics), medicines to calm or reduce anxiety or for sleep problems (hypnotics) and medicines used for treating allergies (antihistamines like chlorphenamine or promethazine)....
- The use of this medicine together with opioids (used to treat pain and some cough medicines) increases the risk of drowsiness, difficulties in breathing and coma and may be life-threatening.
- Medicines used for treating fungal infections, such as ketoconazole, can increase the chance of getting side effects when taken with Zolpid Er Tablet.
- Rifampicin (an antibiotic used for the treatment of tuberculosis) can reduce the effectiveness of this medicine.
Storage and disposal of Zolpid Er 12.5 MG
- Store Zolpid Er Tablet in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Dosage of Zolpid Er 12.5 MG
Overdose
Symptoms of overdose of Zolpid Er Tablet include sleepiness and fainting. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
Missed a Dose
If you missed any dose of Zolpid Er Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one....
