Contraindications of Vorimed 200 MG
- Allergy to voriconazole or any other excipients
- Co-administration with CYP3A4 substrates
- Co-administration with rifampicin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital, efavirenz, high doses of ritonavir, ergot alkaloids, sirolimus, St. John's Wort, and venetoclax

Pregnancy

There are no adequate data on the use of Vorimed 200mg tablets in pregnancy; therefore, the potential risk for humans is unknown. It should not be used unless the benefits to the mother outweigh the risk to the fetus.
Breast Feeding

Can I take Vorimed 200mg tablet while breastfeeding?
A:
It is not known that the active components of Vorimed 200mg tablet get excreted in breast milk. Breastfeeding should be avoided during medication of this tablet. Consult your doctor for further information.
Driving
Q:
Is it safe to drive after taking Vorimed 200mg tablet?
A:
Vorimed 200mg tablet may cause blurred vision or altered visual perception, impairing the driving ability. If these symptoms are seen, do not drive.
Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Vorimed 200mg tablets?
A:
Interaction with alcohol with this medication is not known.

Talk to your doctor if

Mode of Action of Vorimed 200 MG
How Does It Work?
Voriconazole is a triazole antifungal agent that works by inhibiting fungal cytochrome P-450, which blocks the fungal cell growth and prevents it from multiplication.
Directions for Use of Vorimed 200 MG
- Follow the instructions on the prescription carefully
- Do not crush, break or chew the tablet
- Swallow the entire tablet with a glass of water
Interactions of Vorimed 200 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Co-administration with CYP3A4 substrates like astemizole, quinidine, terfenadine increases plasma concentrations and leads to QTc prolongation
- Potent CYP450 inducers like long-acting barbiturates and carbamazepine may significantly decrease plasma voriconazole concentration
- Concomitangt use of voriconazole and rifabutin decreases the area under curve and Cmax of voriconazole
- Rifampicin is contraindicated with voriconazole as it decreases the Cmax of voriconazole by 93% and the area under curve by 96%
- Co-administration of everolimus with voriconazole may increase everolimus plasma concentrations to a significant extent
- Concomitant use of a single intravenous dose of fentanyl with voriconazole results in an increase in the mean area under curve of fentanyl
- Co-administration of voriconazole with warfarin significantly increases maximum prothrombin time
- Oral coumarin anticoagulants, when taken with voriconazole, may increase the plasma concentrations of coumarin anticoagulants
- Voriconazole may increase the plasma concentrations of calcium channel blockers metabolized by CYP3A4

Missed a Dose
If you missed any dose of Vorimed 200mg tablet, then take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it's time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the loss of missed one....
