Description
Twinrix Paediatric injection is a vaccine that helps protect infants, children, and teenagers (from 1 year up to 15 years old) against two liver diseases: Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B. It contains non-infectious parts of the Hepatitis A virus and the Hepatitis B virus. These parts help your body learn to recognise and fight off these viruses if you come into contact with them in the future.

Uses of Twinrix -100 UNSURE
Twinrix Paediatric injection is used to prevent Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B infections in children and adolescents aged 1 to 15 years.
Contraindications of Twinrix -100 UNSURE
- You should not receive Twinrix Paediatric injection if:
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients in the vaccine.
- You are allergic to neomycin (an antibiotic).
- You have had an allergic reaction after getting a previous Hepatitis A or Hepatitis B vaccine.
- You have a severe illness with a high fever (over 38°C). A minor cold is usually not a problem, but check with your doctor first.

Pain and redness at the injection site, along with drowsiness, headache, nausea, loss of appetite, swelling or bruising at the injection site, a general feeling of being unwell, tiredness, fever (37.5°C or higher), and irritability, are possible side effects. ...

Other General Warnings
Talk to your doctor if
- You have had any health problems after a previous vaccination.
- You have a weak immune system due to illness or medication.
- You have a bleeding disorder or bruise easily.
- You have fainted after a previous injection. Fainting can happen, especially in adolescents, even before or after the needle goes in. Make sure procedures are in place to prevent injury from fainting.
- You might have been exposed to Hepatitis A or B recently (you might be in the incubation period). It's not known if the vaccine will prevent the disease in these cases.
- The vaccine will not protect against other liver infections like Hepatitis C and E, or other germs.
Directions for Use of Twinrix -100 UNSURE
- The doctor will inject Twinrix Paediatric vaccine into the muscle of your upper arm (if you are an adolescent or older child) or into the thigh muscle (if you are an infant). The vaccine should never be injected into a vein....
- Before the injection, the vaccine must be shaken well to achieve a uniform, hazy white liquid.

- Store in a refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C.
