Twinrix Adult Pre Filled Syringe Of 1ml Suspension For Injection
Description
Twinrix Adult injection is a vaccine used in adults and adolescents aged 16 years and above to protect against two liver infections: Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B. It contains inactivated (killed) Hepatitis A viruses and a specific part of the Hepatitis B virus (surface antigen) that is produced using biotechnology.
Twinrix Adult injection is administered as an intramuscular injection, preferably into the deltoid muscle of the upper arm. After administration, the vaccine stimulates the body’s immune system to produce specific antibodies against both the Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B viruses. This production of antibodies typically provides protection against these infections within 2 to 4 weeks after starting the vaccination series.
Twinrix Adult injection does not protect against infections caused by other agents, such as Hepatitis C and Hepatitis E, or other pathogens that can infect the liver.
