Trumesa 1.2 G Description
Trumesa tablet is used to treat ulcerative colitis (a condition that causes inflammation and ulcers in the linings of your large intestines and rectum) and also prevents its symptoms from recurring.
It is an anti-inflammatory medicine containing mesalazine. Trumesa tablet works by preventing the release of certain chemical messengers which may cause inflammation. It should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. While on treatment, you should drink an adequate amount of liquid. Before using Trumesa tablet, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history.

Contraindications of Trumesa 1.2 G
- If you are allergic to mesalazine or any other ingredients of Trumesa tablet.
- If you are suffering from any liver or kidney problems.
- If you are allergic to salicylates (such as diclofenac, aspirin, ibuprofen, etc).

Pregnancy
Breast Feeding
- Mesalazine passes into the breastmilk in a small amount, thus consult your doctor before using Trumesa tablet while breastfeeding.
- Your doctor will only prescribe you this medicine if considered essential after assessing the benefits over risks.
- When prescribed, watch out for symptoms like diarrhoea. If your child develops it, immediately discontinue breastfeeding and contact your doctor.

- You have any problems with your heart, liver or kidneys.
- You suffer from any lung diseases like asthma.
- You have any stomach or gut problems.
- You have any bleeding disorders.
- You have experienced an allergic reaction while taking sulfasalazine.
- You develop fever, stomach pain & cramps, headache or rash after taking Trumesa tablet.
- You are on any medicines (Asirin, Ibuprofen, Diclofenac, etc) that may alter your kidney functions.
- You are undergoing urine tests, inform your doctor that you are taking this medicine.
- Before and during treatment with this medicine, your doctor may want to monitor the liver, kidneys, blood and lungs periodically.
- You may develop kidney stones (symptoms like stomach pain, blood in urine) while on treatment with this medicine. Hence, you must have a sufficient amount of water.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Trumesa 1.2 G
- Trumesa tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor.
- Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water, do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
- It should be taken with food.
- It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results.
- You should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.

- Some medicines can affect the way Trumesa tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
