Description

Triglycomet Tablet is an anti-diabetic medicine that contains a combination of three medicines: Glibenclamide, Metformin, and Pioglitazone. It is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus wh

en diet, exercise, and treatment with single medicines or two-drug combinations do not provide adequate blood sugar control. This medicine works through the combined action of its ingredients to help lower and control blood glucose levels. Along with taking this medicine regularly, it is very important to follow a healthy diet and lifestyle to manage blood sugar effectively. Some components of this medicine may worsen heart failure, so inform your doctor if you have or have ever had heart failure or any other heart condition. You should also tell your doctor about all the medicines you are currently taking and provide your complete medical history before starting this treatment.

  • If you are allergic to Glibenclamide, Metformin, Pioglitazone or any other components of this medicine.
  • If you have a history of heart failure or any other serious heart condition.
  • If you have bladder cancer or a history of bladder cancer.
  • If you are passing blood in the urine or are unable to urinate.
  • If you have experienced hypoxia due to a heart or lung condition or recently had a heart attack.
  • If you have liver, kidney failure or you drink alcohol too often.
  • If you have an excess of acid called metabolic acidosis such as lactic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis.
  • If you have experienced diabetic pre-coma.
  • If you have any conditions which can affect kidney functions such as dehydration, severe infection and shock.

  • You have liver disease or liver failure.
  • You drink alcohol excessively (either every day or only from time to time).
  • You have uncontrolled diabetes, with severe hyperglycaemia (high blood glucose), nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, rapid weight loss, lactic acidosis or ketoacidosis.
  • You have or had bladder cancer or you are passing blood in your urine.
  • Your kidneys are not functioning properly.
  • You have a severe infection or are dehydrated.
  • You are going to have a certain type of X-ray with an injectable dye, talk to your doctor as you must stop taking medicine for a certain period of time before and after the examination.
  • You are breast-feeding.
  • You have cysts on your ovaries (polycystic ovary syndrome).

Q: What are the signs and symptoms of lactic acidosis?

A: Vomiting, stomach ache (abdominal pain), muscle cramps, feeling of not being well with severe tiredness, difficulty in breathing, reduced body temperature and heartbeat.

Q: Can I use this medicine in Type 1 Diabetes patients?

A: This medicine should not be used in Type 1 Diabetes patients as it is not effective for that. Type 1 diabetes is a condition where your pancreas doesn’t make insulin or makes very little insulin.
