Description

Sutent capsule is an anticancer medicine used to treat kidney, stomach, and bowel cancer. This medicine contains sunitinib as its main active ingredient. It works by inhibiting certain enzymes that promote the growth of cancer cells, thereby reducing tumour size and slowing its progression.

This medicine can be taken with or without food. Common side effects include reduced levels of platelets, red blood cells, and white blood cells (e.g., neutrophils), shortness of breath, high blood pressure, extreme fatigue, swelling under the skin and around the eyes, and a severe allergic rash.

Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have heart disease, liver or kidney issues, or a bleeding disorder. Many other medications can affect or be affected by this medicine, so notify your healthcare team of all drugs you are using. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. It is important for both males and females to use effective contraception during treatment to prevent pregnancy.

Sutent capsule has the potential to elevate blood pressure. Your physician may monitor your blood pressure while you are undergoing this treatment. It is not recommended for individuals under the age of 18.
