Rifacus 400 MG Description

Rifacus 400 mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It aids in the treatment of several different types of bacterial infections such as traveller’s diarrhoea, hepatic encephalopathy, and irritable bowel syndrome

(IBS) with diarrhoea is the primary use of the Rifacus 400 mg Tablet. The main component of this medication is Rifaximin. It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. The mode of action of Rifacus 400 mg tablets is to kill the bacteria and lower the infection and symptoms associated with the infection, such as fever, diarrhoea, delirium, etc. This medicine is used to treat traveller’s diarrhoea in adults and children only over the age of 12. This medication is not effective against infections caused by viruses or fungus. So using it in such conditions can lead to the development of treatment-resistant bacteria. Diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting are some of the common side effects of Rifacus 400 mg Tablet. Most of them do not require any medical attention. However, it is best to consult the doctor in case of persisting or worsening symptoms. People allergic to rifampicin should not take this medicine and inform their doctor. Rifacus 400 mg Tablet should not be used in patients with diarrhoea complicated by fever or blood in the stool or diarrhoea due to bacteria other than Escherichia coli (E.coli).
