- Treatment of Hepatic encephalopathy
- -To treat infectious diarrhoea and irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhoea
Contraindications
- If you have a known allergy to Rifaximin or any other ingredients in this medicine, you should not use it.

- Talk to your doctor if:-
- If you have Traveler's diarrhoea caused due to bacteria. Organisms such as Campylobacter jejuni or shigella strains can also cause diarrhoea, and this treatment will not be of much help then. This medicine should not be used to treat diarrhoea that is accompanied by a fever and/or blood in the stool.
- If you have liver disease-Because of the increased risk of severe side effects, this drug should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. It's critical to monitor your liver function tests while using this medicine.
- If you have diarrhea caused by Clostridium difficile-The antibiotic medication causes an imbalance in the normal microbial flora of the large intestine, which encourages the growth of Clostridium difficile bacteria. There will be severe diarrhoea as a result of this. Depending on the clinical situation, appropriate remedial actions, dose changes, or substitution with a suitable alternative may be required.If the patient develops severe diarrhoea after receiving treatment with this drug, stop using it.
Directions for Use
- Follow your doctor's directions for this medication's dosage and duration.
- Take the medicines all in at once.
- It must not be chewed, crushed, or broken in any way.
- RFX 400 Tablet can be taken with or without food; however, it's best if you take it at the same time every day.

- When Rifaximin is taken with Afatinib, the levels of Rifaximin can be raised in the body.
- When Aripiprazole is used with Rifaximin, its metabolism is boosted.
- When Lactulose is used with Rifaximin, its therapeutic use can be reduced.
- When coupled with Rifaximin, Warfarin's metabolism can be boosted.
