Medical Description

Pruvict 1 tablet is used to treat constipation. It is a stool softener medicine containing prucalopride as its active ingredient. Constipation is a condition characterised by difficult, infrequent and/or incomplete defecation. Pruvict 1 tablet works by enhancing the motility of the gut and facilitates defecation. Along with this medicine, it is advised to consume foods that are rich in fibre such as fruits, vegetables and grains. Talk with your health care professional to suggest a customised diet to fit your lifestyle. Drink plenty of water. Pruvict 1 tablet should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. Before starting this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history.

Uses

Pruvict 1 tablet is used for the treatment of constipation of unknown origin or known cause.

Contraindications

  • If you are allergic to prucalopride or any of the other ingredients of Pruvict 1 tablet.
  • If you are on dialysis, have perforation or obstruction of the gut wall or have intestinal diseases.

Pregnancy

Other General Warnings

Dosage

Overdose

Symptoms of an overdose of Pruvict 1 tablet includes nausea, diarrhoea and headache. Seek immediate medical help. In case you experience diarrhoea, consume plenty of water/liquid.

Missed a Dose

If you missed any dose of Pruvict 1 tablet, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.
