Medical Description
Proaz Injection is given for severe bacterial infections affecting the lungs and windpipe, urinary tract, blood, brain, ears, skin and soft tissues, abdomen, or bones. It contains aztreonam, an antibiotic that works against susceptible bacteria. Aztreonam blocks bacterial proteins needed to build a protective cell wall, so the bacteria weaken and die. Proaz Injection is prepared and given into a vein or muscle by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic, and it must not be self-injected.
