Olter 1 G Description

Olter Injection is an antibiotic medication. It contains aztreonam as the active substance. Olter Injection is used for the treatment of bacterial infections of the urinary tract, lower respiratory

tract, skin, soft tissue, bone, joint, intra-abdomen, presence of bacteria in the blood, septicemia, gynaecological infections, and gonorrhoea. This medicine works by killing the infection-causing bacteria. Olter Injection will be given to you by your doctor or nurse. Do not self-inject it. Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant/breastfeeding and about your complete medical history.

Uses of Olter 1 G

Olter Injection is used for the treatment of bacterial infections of the:
• urinary tract,
• lower respiratory tract,
• skin,

• presence of bacteria in the blood,
• septicemia,
• gynaecological infections, and
• gonorrhoea.

Contraindications of Olter 1 G

If you are allergic to aztreonam or L-arginine or to any of the other ingredients of Olter Injection .
If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

Can I take Olter Injection during pregnancy?

Olter Injection is contraindicated for use during pregnancy.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Olter Injection while breastfeeding?

Olter Injection passes into human breast milk. This medicine should not be used in breastfeeding women.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Olter Injection?

Olter Injection may have an effect on driving ability. If you experience any effects after taking this medicine that may affect your ability to drive safely, it is advised to avoid driving.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Olter Injection?

There is limited information available on the interaction of alcohol with Olter Injection . Ask your doctor for advice on alcohol intake along with this medicine.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

You have had an allergic reaction to any antibiotics in the past.
You have diarrhoea or usually get diarrhoea when you take antibiotics.
You have had problems with your stomach or intestines.
You develop severe or prolonged or bloody diarrhoea during or after using Olter Injection .
You have liver or kidney problems.
You are taking medicines to prevent blood clots (anticoagulants).
You have any blood disorders like low blood cells count.
You have skin disorders like blistering of the skin.
You get a positive result in a Coombs test.
You experience fits/seizures.
You are taking any other antibiotic.
You experience symptoms of encephalopathy like unexplained confusion, altered mental function, seizure, or weakness.

How Does It Work?

Olter Injection works by preventing the formation of the bacterial cell wall which kills the infection-causing bacteria.

Directions for Use of Olter 1 G

Olter Injection will be given in the hospital by your doctor or nurse.
Do not self-inject this medicine. Follow any aftercare instructions given by the doctor or nurse.

Interactions of Olter 1 G

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way Olter Injection works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
The levels of Olter Injection in the body can be raised when taken along with medicines like probenecid (used for treating gout) and furosemide (used for the treatment of fluid accumulation).
Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines used to thin the blood.
