Odoxil 500 tablet is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the urinary tract, throat, lungs, airways and skin. Odoxil 500 tablet contains cefadroxil as the active substance that works by preventing the further growth of infection-causing bacteria. Odoxil 500 tablet should be taken as advised by your doctor at the same time every day. Do not stop taking the medicine on your own. Before using Odoxil 500 tablet, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history. Odoxil 500 tablet should not be used in children under 6 years of age.

- If you are allergic to cefadroxil or any other ingredient of Odoxil 500 tablet.
- If you are allergic to other cephalosporins like cephalexin. If you are not sure what these medicines are, please confirm with your doctor.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines affect the way Odoxil 500 tablet works or Odoxil 500 tablet itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Inform your doctor about all medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid possible interaction.
- Odoxil 500 tablet should not be used together with antibiotics that stop the growth of bacteria (tetracyclines, chloramphenicol).
- Odoxil 500 tablet when used together with medicines for treating bacterial infections (polymyxin B, vancomycin, aminoglycoside antibiotics, colistin), fluid accumulation (furosemide) may cause kidney damage.
- Particular care should be taken when taking medicines for treating gout (probenecid) and blood clots (warfarin).
