Nucet tablet contains antihistamine levocetirizine which works by blocking the histamine in the body. This inhibition prevents the symptoms like running nose, watery eyes and inflammation. The medication also contains paracetamol which treats the fever. Body ache by inhibition of the prostaglandins and preventing the pain sensation. It also acts on the serotonergic pathway and decreases inflammation.

Interactions with other medicines

  • Paracetamol may prolong the effect of anticoagulants like warfarin and increase the risk of bleeding
  • Metoclopramide and domperidone may increase the speed of absorption of paracetamol
  • Colestyramine may reduce the absorption of paracetamol if given within one hour of paracetamol
  • Concomitant use of two or more NSAIDs should be avoided as they increase the risk of gastric bleeding
  • Concomitant use of NSAIDs with antihypertensives may reduce the efficacy of antihypertensive
