• As per CDSCO, Nalcon 50 mg tablets are used for the treatment of:
• Alcohol dependence
• Opioid dependence

• Do not use Nalcon 50 mg tablets or use caution:
• If you are allergic to Naltrexone, the main component in Nalcon 50 mg tablet
• If you have sudden suicidal thoughts or ideation
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
• If you are below 18 years of age
• If you have severe renal disease
• If you have severe hepatic impairment
• If you have acute hepatitis

• Side effects of Nalcon 50 mg tablets include:
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Anxiety
• Restlessness
• Joint pain
• Muscle pain
• Insomnia (difficulty sleeping)

Other General Warnings

• You have an allergic reaction after taking Nalcon 50 mg tablets.
• You have been prescribed any opioid medicine for cough or pain.
• You experience severe and persistent side effects.
• You are pregnant or planning to conceive.
• You have severe liver impairment.
• You have renal impairment.
• You take (or plan to take) other prescription medications, herbal products, vitamins, and nutritional supplements. These may interact with Nalcon 50 mg tablets.

• Take Nalcon 50 mg tablets exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
• Take Nalcon 50 mg tablets on a regular schedule, preferably at the same time every day.
• Take Nalcon 50 mg tablets as a whole with a full glass of water. Do not break or chew this medicine.
• You can take a Nalcon 50 mg tablet before or after food or as prescribed by your doctor.
• Please do not exceed the recommended dosage of Nalcon 50 mg tablet, as it can lead to an overdose.
• Do not abruptly stop using Nalcon 50 mg tablets, as it may lead to withdrawal symptoms.

Interactions with other medicines

• Nalcon 50 mg tablet interaction with high dose opioids can lead to life-threatening opioid poisoning from respiratory to circulatory impairment.
• Nalcon 50 mg tablet interaction with methadone in substitution treatment increases the risk of the onset of withdrawal syndrome.
• Nalcon 50 mg tablet interaction with antidepressants (amitriptyline, doxepin, and trimipramine), antipsychotics (thioridazine), sedatives (droperidol), opioids (codeine), central antihypertensives, (alpha-methyldopa), antibiotics (clarithromycin), and anti-rheumatics (leflunomide) can cause severe side effects.
• Medicines used to produce anaesthesia before surgery may become less effective if given with Nalcon 50 mg tablets. A modification in the dose of an anaesthetic agent may be required.
• Supplements (herbal or otherwise) can interact with Nalcon 50 mg tablets to cause adverse side effects.
