Mucinac 600 MG Description
Mucinac 600 Effervescent Sugar-Free tablet is a mucolytic agent used to treat respiratory diseases with excessive mucus. It relieves chest congestion or tightness caused by excess mucous in various respiratory tract conditions, including bronchitis, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, and bronchiectasis. Its main component is acetylcysteine.
t A few other tablets with the same composition are Effenac 600mg, Mucaryl 600mg, Mucotab Et 600mg, Mucomix Et, and Lumenac 600mg. You may experience drowsiness (use caution when driving) or nausea or vomiting (small frequent meals may help). This tablet is effervescent in nature and should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. Do not skip a dose or consume more than that recommended by the doctor.
Headache, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, fever and skin rashes are a few common side effects that can be seen after taking this medicine. Although not everyone gets them. Side effects often improve as your body gets used to the medicine.
While using this medication, avoid alcohol and other prescription or OTC medications that might cause dizziness. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history.

Contraindications of Mucinac 600 MG
- If you are allergic to acetylcysteine or any ingredients of the Mucinac 600 tablet.
- Mucinac should not be used in children below 14 years of age.

Interactions with other medicines
- To avoid any interaction, tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are taking or might take.
- Cough suppressants should not be used at the same time as using this medicine as it can alter the way this medicine works.
- Activated charcoal can reduce the action of this medicine. Concomitant use is not advised.
- Certain antibiotics, such as ones belonging to the class of aminoglycosides, penicillins, and tetracycline, should be taken with a minimum gap of 2 hours with the Mucinac 600 Sugar-Free tablet.
- Glyceryl trinitrate, a medicine used for angina, should not be taken along with the Mucinac 600 Sugar-Free tablet as there are chances of increased side effects and serious hypotension usually characterised by a severe headache....
