Medical Description
Medisalic ointment is used for the treatment of various skin conditions such as eczema, impetigo, dermatoses and psoriasis. It helps in managing swelling, dry skin, scaly skin, red and scaly patches. It contains a combination of clobetasol and salicylic acid. Clobetasol is a topical steroid and salicylic acid is antiseptic and keratolytic. Medisalic ointment should only be used externally and must not be used for any other skin conditions without consulting your doctor. You may experience some application site reactions as side effects but they normally fade away with time. Please report to your doctor if you notice the side effects persist or worsen.

Uses of MEDISALIC OINT
Medisalic Ointment is used for managing skin problems like eczema, psoriasis, impetigo and dermatitis.
Contraindications of MEDISALIC OINT
- If you are allergic to clobetasol, salicylic acid, or any other ingredient of Medisalic cream.
- If you have any untreated skin infection or skin thinning problems.
- If you have chickenpox, shingles, warts or any other wounds and skin infections, you should not use this cream.
- It should not be used for treating infection in your private parts, face, acne, around the mouth and skin perforations.
- The ointment is not meant for children less than 12 years of age.

- Medisalic ointment works by the combined action of its two components -
- Clobetasol is a steroid that acts by blocking the synthesis of natural substance, i.e., prostaglandins which is responsible for itching, swelling and redness.
- Salicylic acid improves the condition of swelling and redness in the skin and helps in shedding the hard skin or dead skin and improves the penetration of clobetasol into the skin.
