• Gastro-esophageal reflux disease(GERD)
• Erosive esophagitis
• Gastric and duodenal ulcers
• The relief of the symptoms of nausea and vomiting, epigastric sense of fullness, upper abdominal discomfort and regurgitation of gastric contents.

• If you are allergic to domperidone, lansoprazole or any other ingredients of Lotus D capsule.
• If you have a type of brain tumour called a prolactinoma, which affects hormone levels.
• If you have any condition where moving your stomach contents faster could be harmful, such as bleeding in the stomach or intestines, a blockage, or a hole in the gut.
• If you have serious liver or kidney problems.
• If you are taking a medicine called atazanavir (used for HIV treatment), it should not be combined with lansoprazole.

Other General Warnings

• You have ongoing stomach ulcers, liver issues, or need long-term treatment, as lansoprazole can hide serious conditions and needs careful monitoring.
• You take HIV medicines, antibiotics like ketoconazole, or other drugs that interact with lansoprazole or domperidone, as effectiveness or side effects may be affected.
• You have a vitamin B12 deficiency, low magnesium, weak bones, or a history of fractures, as these may worsen with long-term use of PPIs like lansoprazole.
• You have persistent diarrhoea, skin rashes, or digestive infections, as these could be rare but serious side effects that need medical attention.
• You have heart conditions, are over 60 years of age, or take medicines that affect heart rhythm, since domperidone may increase the risk of serious heart problems.

• Lotus D capsule should be taken as directed by your doctor.
• Swallow it whole with a glass of water.
• It should be taken before a meal.
• It is best to take it at a fixed time for optimal results, and you should not consume it more than prescribed by your doctor.

How Does It Work?

It may also help prevent stomach contents from flowing back into the food pipe, which can reduce heartburn and discomfort.
• Lansoprazole works by reducing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It does this by blocking tiny pumps in the stomach lining that produce acid. By lowering acid levels, lansoprazole helps relieve symptoms such as heartburn, acid reflux, and stomach ulcers, allowing the stomach and food pipe to heal. It provides long-lasting relief from excess stomach acid and is usually taken before meals for best results.

Interactions with other medicines

• Lansoprazole may reduce the effectiveness of certain medicines like HIV drugs (atazanavir), antifungals (ketoconazole), and birth control pills.
• It can increase the effects or side effects of medications such as digoxin, tacrolimus, methotrexate, and warfarin, which may require monitoring.
• Medicines like fluvoxamine can increase lansoprazole levels, while rifampicin and St. John’s Wort can reduce its effect.
• Antacids and sucralfate may interfere with the absorption of lansoprazole and should be taken at a different time.
• Always share a complete list of your medications with your doctor to avoid potentially harmful interactions.
