Kephazon TZ injection is a combination medicine comprising cefoperazone and tazobactam. Cefoperazone is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin, and tazobactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor with antibacterial
properties. It is used to treat various bacterial infections like respiratoryinfections, skin, and urinary tract infections. The dose and duration of treatment depend upon the severity of your condition. If you have taken more than the prescribed dose, inform your doctor immediately.

- Clostridium difficile associated diarrhoea is commonly seen with Cefoperazone
Other general Interactions
- Incidences of bleeding have been reported with Cefoperazone. Signs of bleeding should be monitored
- Caution is advised in patients on Cefoperazone/Tazobactam with kidney disease
- Tazobactam can alter blood counts in prolonged use.
- Previous resistance to other antibiotics/cephalosporins should be assessed before starting this medicine.
