Kaypen 125 MG Description

Kaypen Tablet is an antibiotic medication. It is used in the treatment of bacterial infections of the upper respiratory tract, soft tissue, skin and scarlet fever. Kaypen Tablet contains penicillin V

as the active substance. It works by killing the infection-causing bacteria. Take Kaypen Tablet in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own. Always complete the entire course of antibiotics, even if you feel better, to prevent treatment failure. Before starting Kaypen Tablet, inform your doctor if you are pregnant/breastfeeding and about your complete medical history.

  • Take Kaypen Tablet as a whole with sufficient water.
  • Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
  • Do not consume more than the prescribed dose.
  • Do not discontinue the medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.

Interactions of Kaypen 125 MG

Interactions with other medicines

  • Some medicines can affect the way Kaypen Tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
  • Inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
  • Kaypen Tablet should not be used together with antibiotics that only prevent the further growth of bacteria like tetracyclines, erythromycin, chloramphenicol and sulphonamides.
  • Medicines used for treating gout (probenecid, sulfinpyrazone) may increase the action of this medicine.
  • There may be an increased risk of toxicity when Kaypen Tablet is used with anti-cancer medicine methotrexate.
  • Particular care should be taken if you are using other antibiotics (neomycin) and oral anticoagulants (warfarin, coumarin, phenindione).
  • Kaypen Tablet inactivates oral typhoid vaccine and should not be used together.

  • Store Kaypen Tablet in a cool and dry place below 25°C.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
