Medical Description

Ixapana 10mg capsule is an anticancer medicine. It is used with other medicines (bortezomib and dexamethasone) to manage multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells in the bone marrow. It is to be used in patients who have received at least one previous anticancer therapy. Ixapana 10 mg capsule contains panobinostat, a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor. It blocks HDAC enzymes inside cells, causing acetylated histones and other proteins to build up. This can stop the cell cycle and cause cancer cells to die. Take Ixapana 10mg capsule by mouth on specific days of a treatment cycle, as recommended by your doctor. Diarrhea is the most common serious side effect of this medicine. It can also cause serious heart rhythm problems, bleeding, low blood counts, infections, and liver problems. Warning signs that should be reported immediately to your doctor and need urgent medical attention include severe or persistent diarrhea, signs of dehydration, chest pain, fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat, fainting, unusual bleeding or bruising, black or bloody stools, fever or signs of infection, and yellowing of the skin or eyes. Before starting Ixapana 10mg capsule, you should discuss your complete medical history with your doctor, including any heart problems, abnormal heart rhythm tests, diarrhea, bleeding problems, infections, and liver problems.
