Medical Description

Glucobay M is an antidiabetic medicine. It is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus (also known as non-insulin-dependent diabetes), where diet alone and other anti-diabetic medicines are not able to produce adequate blood sugar control. It contains acarbose and metformin as its active ingredients. You should follow all the instructions, dietary recommendations and exercise regimens suggested by your doctor while taking Glucobay M tablet.

Glucobay M tablet is used for the management of high blood sugar in Type II diabetes.

Contraindications of GLUCOBAY M 50MG STRIP OF 10 TABLETS

  • If you are allergic to metformin or acarbose or any other ingredients of Glucobay M tablet.
  • If you have problems with your liver or kidney.
  • If you are an alcoholic (you daily consume alcohol in excess).
  • If you have uncontrolled diabetes.
  • If you have any heart problems or if you recently had a heart attack.
  • If you have a severe infection of the lung or kidney. Infections can increase the risk of lactic acidosis.
  • If you have inflammation or ulcers in any part of the bowel or intestine (Ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease).
  • If you have serious liver-related dysfunction or obstruction in the intestine.
  • If you have a large hernia, increased gas in your intestine may worsen it.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding a baby.

  • Glucobay M tablet should not be used by children below 10 years of age.

  • Glucobay M tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor.
  • Swallow it whole with a glass of water.
