- Gibtulio MetTablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus along with diet and exercise:
- in adults whose diabetes is not adequately controlled by metformin alone or metformin with other medicines for diabetes.
- in patients already being treated with a combination of empagliflozin and metformin as separate medicines.
Contraindications of Gibtulio Met 12.5/500mg Strip Of 10 Tablets
- If you are allergic to empagliflozin, metformin or any of the other ingredients of Gibtulio MetTablet.
- If you have any type of metabolic acidosis (a condition where there is too much acid in the body fluids) like lactic acidosis or diabetic ketoacidosis.
- If you had a diabetic pre-coma.
- If you have kidney failure or liver problems.
- If you have any condition which may affect your kidneys like severe infection, dehydration (due to severe vomiting/diarrhoea or less fluid intake) or shock.
- If you have any disease which may cause a deficiency of oxygen supply to the tissues, like heart failure, respiratory failure, recent heart attack or shock.
- If you drink large amounts of alcohol.

- You have a kidney or liver disorder.

- You have a disease in which a part of the body has a reduced supply of oxygen.
- You develop any symptoms of lactic acidosis like vomiting, stomach pain, muscle cramps, a general feeling of not being well, tiredness, difficulty in breathing and reduced body temperature.
- You experience symptoms like rapid weight loss, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, excessive thirst, fast and deep breathing, confusion, unusual sleepiness or tiredness, a sweet smell to your breath, a sweet or metallic taste in your mouth or a different odour to your urine or sweat after taking this medicine....
- You have type 1 diabetes – a condition where your body does not produce any insulin.
- You are not able to eat or drink.
- You are taking medicines called diuretics that increase the production of urine or lower blood pressure.
- You are elderly (over 75 years old).
- You have a serious infection of the kidney or the urinary tract with fever.
- You need to undergo an examination with iodination contrast agents (such as an X-ray or scan).
- You develop symptoms like pain, tenderness, redness, swelling of the genitals or the area between the genitals and the anus with fever or feeling generally unwell.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Gibtulio Met 12.5/500mg Strip Of 10 Tablets
- Take Gibtulio MetTablet as a whole with sufficient water.
- Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
- Take this medicine at the same time every day, preferably with meals for optimal benefits.
- Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
- Do not consume more than the prescribed dose.
- Do not discontinue the medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.

Overdose
